Your new role
Our client are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to support the design, operation and improvement of our cloud‑based data platforms. You will work within a team of technical specialists, contributing to platform reliability, capacity, configuration management and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of the organisation's data platform.
- Manage platform stability, availability and incident resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis and contribute to ongoing service improvements.
- Participate in out of hours support where required.
- Assist with proactive monitoring, capacity management and escalations.
- Collaborate with technical teams and third‑party providers.
- Contribute to project delivery and platform enhancements.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in similar technical engineering or platform roles.
- Strong background in incident, request, change and problem management.
- Experience with cloud technologies, including Azure.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is essential.
- Experience managing SQL Server.
- Comfortable working with both legacy and modern technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Experience with GitHub, Git Actions and Terraform are desirable.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Experience with cloud cost monitoring and reporting.
