Crynodeb

Geoffrey Field Junior School is looking for new external governors to join our friendly and committed governing body. Our governors come from a range of different backgrounds, skills and experience but all share a common interest of wanting the best possible education for the children in our school.

The Governing Board provides strategic leadership, robust accountability, oversight, and assurance for the educational and financial performance of the school.

Its core functions are to ensure that:
● the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school are clearly defined,
● the headteacher performs their responsibilities for the educational performance of the school, and
● the sound, proper and effective use of the school’s financial resources.

What will you do?
● Attend meetings of the Full Governing Board six times an academic year (three times face to face and three times online)
● Take on a link responsibility for a specific aspect of governance (Examples include: Finance, Buildings, Safeguarding, SEND, Curriculum and Outcomes). The link responsibility will reflect your interest and/or skills and experience. This involves visiting the school to review the link area with the relevant members of staff approx three times per year.
