Neway International are seeking a Business Support Assistant (Place & Infrastructure) to join our client, Carmarthenshire County Council.
Location: Trostre Depot
Hours: 37 hours per week (08:30–16:30)
Start Date: 09 March 2026
End Date: Initially for 3 months, extended after review
Rates: PAYE: £12.45 per hour, Umbrella/Ltd: £16.08 per hour

About the Client
Carmarthenshire County Council’s Place & Infrastructure Directorate delivers essential services that support the county’s operational, environmental, and infrastructure needs. The Business Support function plays a key role in ensuring smooth service delivery, accurate data management, and effective administrative support across the department. The team works collaboratively with operational staff, managers, and external partners to maintain high standards of service and compliance.
The Role
The Business Support Assistant will provide efficient and effective administrative support to ensure the department’s aims and objectives are met in line with council policies and financial regulations. This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information securely. You will support day‑to‑day operations, data entry, record keeping, and general administrative duties across the Place & Infrastructure service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a wide range of administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations.
Maintain accurate records, data entry, and documentation in line with council standards.
Use Microsoft Office systems to produce reports, correspondence, and spreadsheets.
Support financial processes in accordance with the Authority’s financial regulations.
Handle confidential information sensitively and securely in line with the Data Protection Act.
Assist with general office duties including filing, scanning, and responding to enquiries.
Provide support to managers and operational teams as required.
Ensure high levels of accuracy in data management and record keeping.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience in an administrative role.
Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including English Language (A–C).
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Good analytical and numeracy skills.
High level of accuracy in data entry and record management.
Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and securely.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
