Summary

Are you ready for a rewarding career where you can truly make a difference in the lives of others? If so — come join our friendly team at Grangemead Respite Services Hailsham and be part of “Branching Out”, our weekday programme supporting adults with learning disabilities to live active, meaningful lives.

In this rewarding role, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. Each day is different — you might be helping someone gain confidence in cooking a meal, tending to the garden, or participating in local activities that encourage social interaction and personal growth. Your role will involve promoting independence and choice, empowering individuals to learn new skills and make their own decisions wherever possible.

You’ll also provide personal care and administer medication with sensitivity and attention to detail, ensuring each person’s health and wellbeing are always prioritised. Some of the people you support may have more complex needs, so you’ll receive training to confidently assist with PEG feeding, insulin administration, moving and handling, and managing behaviours of concern. As part of the team, you’ll also act as the designated driver, taking people to various activities in the local community. Working Monday to Friday, you’ll help create a structured, engaging environment where every day offers meaningful experiences and opportunities for the people you support to thrive.

You don’t need loads of experience — what matters most is your kindness, motivation, and positive attitude.

We are looking for candidates who are:

23 years or older, with at least 3 years’ driving experience and a clean driving licence (essential)
Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting others
Confident in following care plans, routines, and administering medication (training provided)
A great communicator who enjoys teamwork and bringing out the best in others
Please note that the role does not qualify for sponsorship .

To apply for this role, please follow the ‘Apply Now’ button above to answer 5 questions for your application.
