ABOUT THE ROLE

Team: Volunteering

As the Volunteering Development Manager, you will help our teams build a welcoming, diverse, and active volunteer community for the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust. You will guide and support delivery teams so they can work confidently and consistently with volunteers. Your role includes giving practical advice, creating clear processes, and helping teams provide an inclusive volunteer experience.

You will put our volunteering strategy into action and help more people get involved in our projects. A key part of this role is building strong relationships with community groups, youth organisations, and other local partners. Through these partnerships, you will help increase volunteer participation and create more opportunities for people to connect with our work.

You will also coordinate volunteer activities across the UK. This includes leading national initiatives that promote our events and support our goals as a charity. Your work will help volunteers feel connected, valued, and part of a wider community, no matter where they are based.

What You’ll Be Doing

Shape and deliver volunteering campaigns across the UK in a clear and consistent way.
Advise and support teams and colleagues on good practice in volunteer management, so volunteers have a positive and safe experience.
Maintain strong working relationships with key colleagues to make sure risks are identified early and managed effectively.
Support delivery teams to align their volunteer initiatives, so volunteers have a consistent experience across different projects and locations.

Good understanding of volunteer engagement and community involvement, with experience applying these in real situations.
