Your new role
As the Sample Co‑ordinator, you will take responsibility for ensuring that all samples entering the laboratory are processed correctly from the moment they arrive. This dual office-and-laboratory role requires you to receive and register each sample accurately in the Laboratory Information Management System, ensuring that all test requirements are captured without error. You will work closely with both clients and laboratory colleagues to confirm that testing instructions are fully understood and booked in correctly. In addition to managing incoming samples, you will oversee any quarantined items and prepare weekly quarantine updates for operational teams. You will also maintain up-to-date customer and contact information within the system while ensuring that the sample reception area remains clean, organised and compliant with housekeeping standards. Throughout your work, you will operate in line with the company's Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and follow the Quality Management System at all times. This role is Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm and is based full-time in Bridge of Don.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need strong organisational and time management skills, along with confidence in using IT systems, including MS Office and database platforms. The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential, as is maintaining accuracy and attention to detail throughout.
What you'll get in return
You will receive the living wage in addition to holiday pay and the chance to work within a professional and safety focused laboratory environment. You may also have the opportunity for potential contract extension depending on workload and business needs.
