The Role
Do you want to make a difference to children and young people?
Working alongside the other Community Education Lead, you will coordinate the local authority’s statutory duties in relation to Elective Home Education (EHE) and facilitate the delivery of Community Cohesion projects across Bolton.
You will advise and support EHE families to ensure that all children of compulsory school age are receiving a suitable education.
You will provide guidance to schools and professionals regarding EHE and EAL.
This is a fantastic opportunity to enable Bolton’s children to be the best they can be.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about inclusion, equality of opportunity, and building strong partnerships between families, schools, community organisations and local services.
The successful candidate must have the ability to engage with and involve children and families in identifying and overcoming barriers where there is a lack of engagement in education.
You’ll work both independently and as part of a team. You’ll need to meet deadlines and have sound knowledge of education law in relation to EHE, school registration, and safeguarding. You’ll have fantastic communication skills and be able to build and sustain relationships with children, their families and other professionals, providing a high level of impactful intervention to give the children the best chances in life.
You will have a good understanding of promoting community cohesion and strategies to support children learning English as an additional language.
You will have a degree level qualification and substantial experience in education, inclusion, community cohesion or a related field.
Applicants must have a full driving licence and use of a car.
