This is a permanent full-time post however part-time working would be considered. We would also consider this as a band 5 to 6 progression post. This post is not part of a rotation.
You would be joining a friendly and supportive team with high level of clinical expertise. There is excellent interdisciplinary working with the therapies team and with the wider MDT and community SLT services. There will be opportunities to also get involved in projects , task and finish groups within the SLT service, and with delivering training.
You would be part of a specialist Speech and Language Therapy team responsible for the provision of a Speech and Language Therapy service to the Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
You will independently manage, triage and prioritise own caseload providing specialist SLT assessment, differential diagnosis, and management of communication and eating, drinking and swallowing needs for neonatal and paediatric inpatients.
You will be initially based at Queen’s Medical Centre and City Campus Neonatal units with potential opportunities to work in the Paediatric service as you develop. You will join a growing team of speech and language therapists and receive support from more senior members of staff and clinical specialists, as well as having peer support from other band 6 clinicians.

Knowledge, training and Experience
Degree in speech and language therapy
HCPC registration
Registered member of RCSLT
Completed RCSLT NQT competencies
Dysphagia trained.
Ideally previous paediatric experience.
