Summary

Groundworker: Major Energy Infrastructure (Isle of Skye)

Location: Isle of Skye, Scotland (High-Quality Accommodation Provided)

Rate: £24.11 per hour (CIS)

Rota: 14 days on, 7 days off

Start Date: April 2026

Duration: Long-Term Ongoing Contract (Expected 2-3 Years)

The Role:

We are looking for reliable, experienced Groundworkers to join a landmark energy infrastructure project on the Isle of Skye. Working as part of a specialist civils team, you will be responsible for the ground preparation and infrastructure installation required for major transmission towers and overhead lines.

This is a high-earning opportunity with a structured rotation, offering long-term stability on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foundations & FRC: Assisting with the excavation and preparation of reinforced concrete pads (transmission tower bases).

  • Drainage & Ducting: Installing industrial-spec drainage systems and utility ducting in challenging, mountainous terrain.

  • Service Installation: Trenching and laying services to support the new overhead line infrastructure.

  • Site Preparation: Managing sub-base preparation, kerbing, and the construction of access tracks for heavy plant.

  • Safety: Adhering to strict Tier 1 safety protocols, particularly when working near deep excavations and in high-wind environments.

Requirements:

  • Valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker card preferred).

  • Essential: Proven experience in heavy civil engineering or large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Advantageous: Valid tickets for Forward Tipping Dumper or Ride-on Roller (CPCS/NPORS).

  • Reliability: Ability to commit to the 11-on, 3-off rotation and work effectively in a remote, mountainous environment.

  • Safety: A proactive attitude toward site safety and environmental protection.

Package & Logistics (High Value):

  • Competitive Pay: £24.11 per hour (CIS).

  • Accommodation: Fully paid, high-quality accommodation is provided for the duration of your 11-day rotation.

  • Rotation: Structured 11 days on, 3 days off-ideal for maximizing earnings and balancing time at home.

  • Travel: Mobilization travel to the Isle of Skye will be arranged and paid for.
