Job Description

Mosaic 1898 Direct Payments Support Service are assisting a woman near Earl Shilton who is a wheelchair user to recruit two female Personal Care Assistants.

The positions are for 24 hours per week to be worked in two, 12 hour shifts, either days or waking nights, to include occasional weekends, in agreement between yourself and the employer. There is potential for increase in working hours once a good working relationship has been established.

This is an animal friendly home with indoor and outdoor pets and animals.

Person Specification

A caring and patient approach is more important than experience. You will be reliable and trustworthy with the commitment to accept responsibility. The PA is required to be flexible, have a good sense of humour and friendly personality as well as being responsible and able to use their own initiative. The PA is also required to be comfortable being alone when not required.

The PA must be a confident driver over 25 (due to car insurance purposes) as the role includes driving her wheelchair adapted vehicle. It is a requirement that the PA have a good level of physical fitness and be an animal lover and confident around animals as there is a variety of animals in and around the home.

The PA would support the lady with her hobbies and interests, as she enjoys gardening, especially growing her own vegetables, eating out, shopping trips, and visiting friends.

Previous experience in a 1:1 care role would be an advantage, however, if the most suitable candidate is not trained, training will be given, as required.

The duties of the role will involve personal care, light household duties, assistance with wheelchair and food preparation.

It is a requirement that the PA fits into the family, therefore, takes the time to get to know and understand the needs of the lady.

In return you will be working for a caring family, who will communicate effectively with you and be welcoming you into their home. The PA who is employed in this role will be given a monthly rota in advance. The family would like PAs who are professional but also comfortable enough to feel part of the lady’s life.

This is a post with an immediate start date for the correct candidate.
