Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an RVN to join the Orthopaedic Team within The Queen Mother Hospital for Animals. This position is ideal for an RVN keen to develop their nursing career and specialise in Orthopaedic nursing. You will provide the highest standard of nursing care for patients working as part of the Orthopaedic and Surgery Ward teams alongside specialist RVNs, clinicians, residents, interns, and students.

This is a full time role working 35 hours per week Monday-Friday on a varied shift pattern including occasional night work and 1:4 weekends (with time off in lieu)

Your role will include:

- Assisting with orthopaedic examination and assessments
- Assisting with diagnostic procedures including radiography, CT
- Scrubbing into orthopaedic surgery in theatre
- Working with the Head of Service and orthopaedic nursing team to manage clinical organisation of advanced cases and their follow up
- Client communication, including nurse lead discharge and re-examination appointments
- Providing excellent nursing care for patients within all areas of the Surgery ward, including orthopaedic patients
- Contributing to the training and development of student vets and nurses on clinical rotations
- Referral nursing experience is not required as full specialist training and support will be provided.

Experience as a clinical coach would be desirable but not essential as training is provided.
