Summary
With over 25 years of success, our client is a well-established and respected organisation within their sector, currently experiencing continued growth. They are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations & Purchasing Assistant to join their Gloucestershire-based team (GL19).
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career who is looking to develop within operations, purchasing, and international supply chain. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, with clear opportunities to grow as the business expands.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of purchasing, stock control, logistics coordination and reporting activities, working closely with internal teams and overseas manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assist with raising and processing purchase orders
-Communicate with overseas manufacturing partners in China, Vietnam and Thailand regarding order updates and production timelines
-Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
-Monitor delivery schedules and support with follow-ups where required
-Update and maintain stock records, assisting with tracking incoming and outgoing goods
-Provide general administrative support to the operations function
-Assist in coordinating international shipments, liaising with freight forwarders and warehouse partners
-Maintain internal spreadsheets and reporting systems
-Assist with preparing operational and purchasing reports
-Update and analyse basic stock and sales data using Excel
Candidate Attributes:
-Fluent Mandarin speaker (essential) to support communication with overseas suppliers
-Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
-Confident using Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate level)
-Good communication skills, both written and verbal
-Eager to learn and develop within operations and supply chain
-Able to work independently once trained and manage workload effectively
Previous experience in administration, purchasing, logistics or a business-related degree would be advantageous but is not essential.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum (depending on experience) + free parking, opportunities to grow within the company, discretionary company bonus scheme, pension scheme and gifted days off over the Christmas period
