Area Sales Manager

Drive B2B sales growth across your territory as a field-based Area Sales Manager. This home-based role focuses on account management, client acquisition, pipeline management and revenue targets, building strong customer relationships and delivering measurable business growth.

SALARY: £35,000 to £38,000 per annum (Basic Salary) / up to £45,600 OTE (includes basic salary)

LOCATION: Home Based and in the Field covering West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Mid & South Wales, Gloucestershire and Somerset, West Midlands Region

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday


JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to join a high-performing Sales & Marketing team. This home-based role covers the West Midlands and surrounding regions, focusing on B2B sales, account management and revenue growth.

As an Area Sales Manager you will execute the sales plan, develop strong customer relationships and deliver against KPIs and revenue targets. You will use data-driven insights and pipeline management to close distribution gaps and maximise profitable returns.

The Area Sales Manager will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing and customer service, to enhance the customer experience and support business growth.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Area Sales Manager include:

• Sales Plan Execution: Deliver the agreed sales strategy to achieve company targets and KPIs

• Account Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships to maximise revenue and retention

• Business Development: Identify and secure new opportunities to drive sales growth across the territory

• Data-Driven Selling: Use sales data and market intelligence to build fact-based arguments and close distribution gaps

• Product Distribution: Present and gain listings for new and existing products in line with launch plans

• Market Analysis: Identify gaps in the market and provide feedback to support continuous improvement

• Cost Control: Responsibly manage business expenses in line with sign-off guidelines

• Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve customer issues to minimise impact on sales performance

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing and customer service teams to deliver an excellent customer experience

• Trade Support: Assist at trade shows and support additional business activities as required


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Previous experience in a field sales, territory management or area sales management role

• Proven experience of meeting and exceeding sales targets and KPIs

• Strong background in B2B sales, client acquisition and relationship management

• Competent in using data to support sales presentations and negotiation

• Exceptional written, presentation and interpersonal skills

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a home-based role

• Full, clean driving licence

DESIRABLE

• A background in partnership or loyalty programmes and joint business planning

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or a similar field

• Previous professional sales training

• Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management tools

• Willingness and flexibility to travel, with potential for overseas travel opportunities
