The role

Working within the Property Assets department the successful applicants will be working within a team who are responsible for responsive repairs, general maintenance and void work to properties and estates within the district. The role will include inspecting properties and related assets to identify repair work that is required to ensure tenants houses remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose. You will also be required to carry out work in support of the planned works and compliance team.

The successful candidate will be a team player and will fit seamlessly into our busy team, sharing our commitment to deliver excellence.

What are we looking for?

A good knowledge of building defects, including the ability to diagnose issues accurately and specify appropriate remedial works

Proven ability to manage multiple repairs, from initial inspection and diagnosis through to post inspection

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with tenants, leaseholders, and contractors to deliver an effective and customer focused maintenance service

A good understanding of construction techniques and building maintenance

Working within a team of technical and non-technical staff

Experience of working in the public sector (desirable) 

Relevant Building/ Surveying qualification (desirable)
