Summary

Bexley Libraries are looking for dedicated and customer focused individuals to join the libraries team as a Customer Advisor. There are 4 posts available, with various hours between Monday and Saturday please note some posts include one late night per week until 7pm. Location: Central Library, Bexleyheath.

Applicants will demonstrate confidence, enthusiasm, energy and resilience in supporting the library team, delivering a wide range of services to the public. Duties include being the public face of the Council, issuing and returning books and other items, keeping the shelves tidy and attractive, helping customers use our IT facilities, preparing and delivering children’s and adult events and activities, supporting colleagues in creating a welcoming and vibrant environment for all visitors and sharing knowledge of the wide range of books and other stock.

Flexibility, eagerness to learn, excellent customer service skills, a keen interest in books and reading, good IT skills, plus the ability to work as part of a great team are essential qualities for the role.

Applications are invited from candidates with a passion for libraries and serving the local community. You will be keen to play a role in making Bexley a great place to live, work and visit by providing important services and inspiring our customers to make the most of their libraries.

As part of the libraries’ team, the post holder will be required to work in all libraries across the borough to cover absence, occasionally at short notice.
