Summary of the role
This role will provide general and specialist administrative support on Research Inclusion within the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South West Peninsula, usually referred to as PenARC. Research inclusion is essential for all projects funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). Research inclusion requires meticulous attention to data collection, data monitoring and secure data storage. It also requires the administration of training events and storing of guidance materials related to research inclusion. This administrative post will be central to these functions.
PenARC is funded by the NIHR. PenARC is a large research group based across a number of organisations. We work closely with health and social care professionals, members of the public and local communities to address issues facing the health and care system through applied research and ensure the needs of our national populations are met.
At the University of Exeter, PenARC staff sit within the Departments for Health and Community Sciences and Public Health and Sport Sciences, in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
PenARC Research Inclusion Team
This role is within the PenARC Research Inclusion Team. This is a newly established team which provides Research Inclusion support to all PenARC researchers and affiliated partners. Research Inclusion is a mandatory requirement for all programmes funded by the NIHR, and relates to ensuring that PenARC’s research, capacity building activities, staff support and public engagement is inclusive and diverse. On a day-to-day basis the PenARC Research Inclusion team will be managed by the PenARC Research Inclusion Manager. The PenARC Research Inclusion team has particularly strong overlap with the research inclusion work of the Exeter Biomedical Research Centre.
