Summary

Your new company
You will be joining a highly respected and well-established civil engineering contractor based in Cardiff operating within the water industry. This multi-accredited contractor has a strong pipeline of work directly with Welsh Water as part of their AMP8/AMP9 programme and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry and, as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Cardiff office with hybrid working.


Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of water infrastructure projects, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, safely and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting measurements and valuations
  • Preparing and negotiating interim valuations and final accounts
  • Monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of contracts
  • Providing project performance reports to senior management
  • Communicating with clients regarding project performance
  • Ensuring timely customer payments within contract terms
  • Procuring subcontractors and managing subcontractor accounts
  • Pricing projects before contract agreement.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
  • Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils (water, highways, rail, renewables or utilities industries)
  • Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Full UK driving licence.
