Summary

7.5 Tonne Driver - Temp to Perm Opportunity - Eggborough (DN14)

The Best Connection are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and customer-focused 7.5t Driver to start immediately.

Our client manufactures and distributes high-quality household furniture from their depot in Eggborough (DN14) and is looking to add a committed driver to their team on a temp-to-perm basis.

The Role

This position involves working 5 days out of 7, so flexibility is required as weekend work will be included on a rota basis.

You will work as part of a two-person team alongside a Porter. Duties include:

  • Loading the vehicle at the start of each shift

  • Multi-drop deliveries to private households and high street showrooms

  • Carrying furniture from the vehicle into customer properties or stores

  • Some assembly of furniture within customer homes

  • Collection of returns and recycled furniture

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be physically fit, as manual handling is required throughout the day.

Usual start time is 07:00, though this may vary depending on route requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily route planning and management of delivery paperwork

  • Safe loading and unloading of furniture at customer premises and warehouses

  • Professional communication with customers, stores, and warehouse teams

  • Liaising with customers to confirm delivery times

  • Unwrapping and inspecting furniture for damage prior to leaving the premises

Previous multi-drop delivery experience within the furniture industry would be advantageous but is not essential.

Pay Rates

  • Monday to Friday: £13.72 per hour

  • Weekend days: £20.58 per hour

Requirements

  • Maximum 6 minor penalty points

  • No DR, DD, CD, TT, or IN10 endorsements
