Summary
Room Leader – Baby Room – Up to £28,000 – 40 Hours per week
The baby room is warm, attentive and thoughtfully set up for children in their earliest stages of development. You’ll be leading a small team, staying close to the floor, and creating an environment where babies feel secure, curious and well cared for. This is a hands-on Room Leader role with real ownership of the day-to-day running of the room.
Before You Apply
- This role requires current, hands-on experience in a baby room.
- Applicants must hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- This position is not suitable for candidates without experience leading practice within an EYFS setting.

What You’ll Need
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
- Recent experience working within a baby room
- Experience leading or deputising within a nursery room
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
- Confidence managing ratios, routines, and staff within the room
Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid
- Experience supporting staff development or mentoring practitioners
What You’ll Do
- Lead the daily running of the baby room, maintaining ratios and routines
- Plan and oversee age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS
- Monitor children’s development and complete accurate observations and assessments
- Supervise and support room staff, setting clear expectations for practice
- Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene standards
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding care and progress
