Summary

Key Responsibilities Clinical Practice Deliver consultations (face-to-face, telephone, e-consultations, and home visits). Prescribe safely in line with local formulary and sign repeat prescriptions. Diagnose, manage, and monitor acute and long-term conditions. Respond to urgent and emergency situations (e.g., sepsis, anaphylaxis). Promote health prevention, self-care, and lifestyle improvements. Identify and safeguard vulnerable adults and children. Refer appropriately to specialist and mental health services. Conduct risk assessments and implement care plans. Communication Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, carers, and colleagues. Support patients receiving complex or sensitive information. Maintain accurate, timely clinical records. Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team and advocate appropriately. Quality & Governance Work within GMC guidance and professional competence. Deliver evidence-based care in line with NICE and national frameworks. Participate in audit, quality improvement, and significant event reporting. Maintain mandatory training and comply with legal and safeguarding policies. Teamwork & Organisation Work collaboratively within the practice team. Delegate appropriately and manage workload effectively. Understand referral pathways and organisational responsibilities. Risk & Safety Manage clinical and environmental risks. Ensure safe handling of medicines, vaccines, and controlled drugs. Follow infection control and health & safety policies. Information Management Use clinical systems and coding accurately. Analyse and present data for audit and service improvement. Comply with data protection and confidentiality requirements. Learning & Development Engage in continuous professional development. Participate in appraisal, supervision, and training. Support and mentor students and colleagues. Equality & Diversity Promote inclusive, non-discriminatory practice. Advocate for equitable access to care for all patients. Additional Base location: Milton Abbas Surgery, with flexibility to work at branch or outreach sites.
