Summary
Plumbing Lecturer
Key responsibilities.
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging teaching, learning, and assessment across plumbing-related courses.
- Design and develop innovative schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning materials in line with awarding body standards.
- Act as a Course Tutor, supporting learners with their academic progress, wellbeing, and future progression routes.
- Contribute to curriculum and course development, ensuring relevance to industry needs and emerging technologies.
- Support student recruitment and progression through participation in enrolment, open days, and promotional events.
- Maintain accurate course and learner records, including attendance, assessments, and achievement data.
- Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive, safe learning environment for all students.
- Contribute to course review, moderation, and the wider quality assurance cycle.
- Uphold and promote the College's safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety policies.
Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or a closely related discipline.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above or a Functional Skills Level 2
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) - or willingness to work towards one.
- Relevant and recent industry experience within plumbing or building services.
- Proven experience delivering high-quality teaching or training in an educational or workplace setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity, and inclusive learning practices.
- Ability to motivate and engage learners of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident in using digital learning tools (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, VLEs, etc.)
