Summary
Job Title: Assembly Operative
Location: Gillingham
Contract: Temporary to permanent
Pay rate: £12.21, increasing to £12.71 in April
Hours: Monday to Friday 6am-2pm
Responsibility: This role involves manually assembling and gluing products according to Supervisor Instructions. Attention to detail, precision and the ability to work with complex parts or materials efficiently but accurately are crucial. Tasks may include following assembly instructions, using hand tools, performing quality checks and ensuring that all products meet the required standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Work as part of a cohesive team to ensure smooth assembly processes and meet production goals.
• Utilise tools such as glue guns and tape guns for product assembly, ensuring accuracy and safety in handling.
• Operate equipment as part of the production process, following all operational guidelines and safety protocols.
• Contribute to tasks on the production line, assisting in the efficient flow of assembly and packaging.
• Prepare products for dispatch by shrink-wrapping items and ensuring they are securely packaged and ready for shipment.
• Manually create and assemble high-quality displays, maintaining attention to detail and adherence to design standards.
• Consistently meet production and assembly targets to support team objectives and project deadlines.
• Strip components and prepare them for the assembly floor, ensuring all parts are ready for use in production.
What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience in assemby, production or packing is preferred.
• Either previous experience or be comfortable using tools.
• Must be comfortable standing on your feet.
