Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and adaptable person to join the Yorkshire Environment Management Waste Department. You will manage Income Protection for the waste sector.

The role will be varied, liaising with various stakeholders, working with and providing advice and guidance to customers and working with colleagues nationally to develop a consistent approach to debt recovery. Experience in debt recovery and resilient at pursuing customers whilst offering good service would be an advantage.

We are looking for a flexible individual who can adapt to changing priorities, with great communication skills who is outcome focused. The successful candidates will also be skilled in Microsoft Excel and Sharepoint, will be well organised and able to manage multiple tasks at any one time. Knowledge of the waste regulatory industry would be preferable however full training will be provided.

Travelling to other location may be required from time to time as you will be invited to face to face meetings throughout the year to meet with the wider team.

If you are based in Leeds, please note that our office location will change from August 2026. The new location will be still in central Leeds at Quarry House.

The team

You will sit within a local EM team and you will deliver outcomes for the waste sector across Yorkshire. You will also be part of the Yorkshire debt group, attend meetings when requested and provide secretarial support to the debt collection manager.

Experience/skills required

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

Experience at dealing with difficult customer whilst maintaining high level of service
Working under own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes.
Deliver work by planning tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
Organisation skills and an ability to use MS Office (strong Excel skills are desirable) and other relevant applications.
Knowledge of Regulated Industry activities and systems are desirable, but full training will be provided.
