Summary
The post holder will work across Sexual Health outreach and Community TB programmes, supporting delivery of screening, treatment support and health promotion within a range of community settings. The role has a particular focus on outreach, including work with populations at increased risk of TB and sexual ill-health. You will also support the Latent TB Programme, working closely with specialist TB services, while maintaining strong links with Sexual Health outreach teams. This post reflects the changing Public Health landscape, where services increasingly overlap and require flexible, skilled practitioners who can adapt to emerging needs. While the role involves a high degree of autonomous working, you will be supported by Clinical Practitioners, Senior Managers and wider multidisciplinary teams, with clear governance, supervision and escalation pathways in place. Key responsibilities Deliver community-based outreach services across Sexual Health and TB pathways Undertake asymptomatic Sexual Health screening, including venepuncture for BBVs Support TB screening, monitoring and follow-up in community settings Administer immunisations and tests (including BCG and Mantoux) under Patient Specific Directions Carry out patient assessments, observations and treatment adherence monitoring Manage own caseloads, clinics and outreach activity as directed Work independently in community settings, making decisions in line with policy and protocol Actively engage and build trust with vulnerable and marginalised populations Work collaboratively with Sexual Health, TB, voluntary sector and community partners Support service evaluation, audit and continuous improvement
