Summary
Carer/Personal Assistant Direct Payment, Wollaton area of Nottingham Ref NOTBS1902
This position is supporting a young adult, female who has muscular dystrophy, but has good communication skills. Speaks both English and Urdu.
Assistance required with hoisting, washing dressing, and daily living tasks. Preferably need a carer to have some experience in the care environment but it is not essential. A cough assist machine, suction machine, ventilator and cough bags is used. Other training, such as: how to use all machinery; manual handling; and first aid trained will be given to the right applicant.
Permanent Contracted Hours 20-24 per week
3 hours in the morning, Monday to Friday, and 2 hours in the evening on selected days
Morning shift duties:
• Assisting with hoisting, toileting, and cleaning including use of a suction machine.
• Supporting with bedroom and study room settings.
• Moving safely from my bedroom to the study room, as required.
Evening shift duties:
• Assisting with hoisting and moving me back to the bedroom.
• Supporting with my bedroom equipment/machines.
Working times/hours may vary, therefore flexibility is required. There will also be additional hours covering other staff.
