Job Purpose
I am seeking a reliable and compassionate support worker to join my team and provide support on Monday’s & Tuesday’s 07:30-18:00, at my home address in Bulkington, where I live with my wife and daughter. I am a wheelchair user and have a level C5 spinal cord injury. My hobbies include football, sports, tv and games.
The role involves not only providing practical care and assistance but also encouraging and enabling me to maintain my independence, pursue my interests and stay actively engaged in the activities I enjoy. A supportive, patient, and positive approach will help him me feel confident and motivated in my day-to-day life.
Main duties
Personal care:
Provide full support with all aspects of personal care including catheter care & bowel routines ensuring hygiene, comfort and dignity at all times.
Domestic duties:
Support with domestic duties around the home included preparing meals and drinks and light household tasks.
Appointments & community
Support is required to accompany me to and from medical appointments and to access the local community. A full driving licence is essential, as you will be required to drive my mobility vehicle.
Perform any other duties that are of a reasonable request.
All training will be provided.
Person Specification:
A driver is essential for this role, the employer has a mobility vehicle.
Be flexible and willing to cover shifts when the team is on annual leave.
Be patient and supportive.
Be honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
Be respectful of the gentleman’s dignity, at all times.
Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and raise any concerns immediately.
A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
