Summary
We’re looking for a Senior Digital Developer to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of high quality digital services used by communities across our area. If you’re passionate about building accessible, user centred solutions and want to make a meaningful impact while shaping technical direction, this is an exciting opportunity to influence how we deliver digital at scale.
What you’ll do
• Lead the development of features and enhancements across our websites, intranet, and digital platforms.
• Architect, build, and maintain secure, robust applications using .NET, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern development practices.
• Drive best practices in accessibility, performance, maintainability, and user centred design (WCAG 2.1 AA and above).
• Guide technical decisions, mentor developers, and contribute to improving our coding standards and development processes.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX specialists, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that provide real customer and business value.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, Cyber Essentials, secure development principles, and organisational governance standards.
• Champion continuous improvement, proposing new tools, approaches, and technologies that help us work smarter.
What you’ll bring
• Significant hands on experience in full stack .NET development and modern web technologies.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, API design, and secure coding.
• A track record of delivering accessible, user centred digital services.
• Experience with Git, DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and agile workflows (e.g., Jira, Scrum/Kanban).
• Ability to mentor team members, provide technical oversight, and review code to maintain quality.
• A proactive mindset, strong problem solving skills, and a passion for improving both codebases and ways of working.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with emerging technologies.
