We are looking to appoint a highly organised and motivated Medical Workforce Coordinator to join our Medical Workforce team, with a key focus on Honorary Doctors and the Medical Training Initiative Scheme (MTIS).
This is an important role supporting safe patient care, regulatory compliance, and a positive experience for doctors working within the Trust. The post holder will manage defined medical workforce processes, taking responsibility for the end-to-end administration of honorary and MTIS appointments, including Clinical, Consultant and Observership honorary roles.
The post holder will coordinate the full lifecycle of honorary and MTIS arrangements, including new applications, renewals, extensions, variations and leavers, ensuring all processes are completed accurately and within agreed timescales. The role involves ensuring compliance with NHS Employment Check Standards, including ID checks, Right to Work and visa checks, DBS checks where applicable, GMC registration and licence to practise (full, provisional and limited), Occupational Health clearance and employment references. You will maintain accurate, audit-ready records on ESR and local workforce systems, monitoring contract and visa expiry dates and proactively managing risks.
The post holder will manage defined medical workforce processes, with particular responsibility for honorary doctors, and the Medical Training Initiative Scheme (MTIS) doctors. The role requires a high level of accuracy, policy knowledge, and judgement to ensure compliance with Trust, national, and statutory requirements. This role is essential to the delivery of the Royal Marsden Global Fellowship Programme (GFP) and aligns directly supporting both operational efficiency and strategic international growth.
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end honorary and MTIS processing, including pre-employment checks, immigration compliance, GMC requirements, and liaison with internal and external stakeholders. The role supports patient safety, regulatory compliance, and a positive doctor experience, while working to agreed service standards in a fast-paced environment.

• Independently coordinate the processing of honorary contracts for medical staff, including Clinical, Consultant, and observership honorary, in line with Trust policies and national guidance.
• Manage the full lifecycle of honorary arrangements, including new applications, renewals, extensions, variations, and terminations, ensuring timely completion to prevent service disruption.
• Provide guidance to host departments and applicants on eligibility, documentation requirements, and Trust processes for honorary appointments.
• Prepare, issue, and maintain accurate honorary documentation, including contracts, confirmation letters, and supporting records.
