This unique role is split between clinical practice within maternity services at LTH and academic research within UCLan’s internationally recognisedResearch in Childbirth and Health (ReaCH)group. You will contribute to high-quality, evidence-based care for women and families while advancing midwifery research that shapes future practice

Clinical Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, evidence-based midwifery care across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal settings
• Act as a role model and provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to junior staff and students.
• Support newly registered midwives as a preceptor/buddy.
• Maintain clinical skills and credibility across all areas of maternity service.
• Promote an evidence-based culture through guidelines, protocols, and audits.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, infection control, and safeguarding policies.
• Participate in education and training of staff and students.
Research Responsibilities
• Contribute to ReaCH research programmes of local, national, and international significance.
• Prepare and disseminate research findings through publications and conferences.
• Engage in grant writing and knowledge transfer activities.
• Build and sustain research networks regionally, nationally, and internationally.
• Mentor and support midwives to integrate research into practic
