Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, committed, hardworking, and highly motivated, Registered Nurse’s or Operating Department Practitioner’s to join our fantastic team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Central pre-operative assessment team at ELHT.

The role requires you to be a team player with excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively alongside a wide range of professionals, as well as working autonomously. You must have a holistic approach to care and develop the skills to assess and evaluate patient’s suitability for the various forms of anesthesia also to identify areas that could improve patients health.

You will be responsible for planning, investigating, ensuring your patients’ receive safe , personal and effective care throughout their assessment whilst maintaining high standards of care and at times acting as the patients’ advocate. You will also be expected to provide nursing leadership, support and actively contribute to our high standards.

The post includes cross site work between our two main ELHT sites at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, and Burnley General Hospital currently Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. Must able to offer us flexibility with potentially working days to support capacity.

We are a university teaching trust, experience is not essential, as training will be given. We have a comprehensive training package, we invest and develop our workforce.

We encourage innovation. ELHT already has the largest and most comprehensive programme of robot assisted surgery in the northwest, with the region’s leading surgeons removing head and neck, urological and colorectal cancers at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. A second robot has been installed at Burnley General Teaching Hospital allowing surgeons to perform robot assisted surgery for gynaecological/Urological cancers. The extra capacity will also allow ELHT to perform more robot assisted surgery which will eventually include Hepato-biliary cancers.

Duties Include; providing expert standards of care to patients, maintaining a safe environment for all, completing accurate and clear documentation.
