Summary
To ensure that Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHSTrust and theGrouparecompliant with statutory requirements in relation to Children and Adults Safeguarding. To support the Named Nursesin providing regular assurance to theGroupBoardregardingthe effectiveness of safeguarding arrangements within Lincolnshire Communityand HospitalsGroup. To provide specialised knowledge,guidanceand support to all staff within Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trustand Groupregardingsafeguarding children, youngpeopleandvulnerable adults. To ensure continual commitment and proactive working with strategic and operational safeguarding boards locally andregionally. To provide leadership and influence in further development of safeguarding internally and across partnerships To provide Safeguarding Childrenand supervision, as per safeguarding children supervision policy. To provide support and advice on complex situations with staff to develop competence and confidence in the management ofsafeguardingcases. Ability to analyse and interprets complex highly confidential and sensitive information from multi-agenciesin order toenableappropriate safeguardingdecisions to be reached. To analyse and interpret relevant clinical records in relation to the sharing of information required within the safeguarding process and advice managers accordingly. Tofacilitateand ensureappropriate supportto staff whoare required toprovide information to the Police, Solicitors,Courtsand their appointed officers. The specialist application of childcare law knowledge and government guidancein order topromote the health,wellbeingand safety of children. The application ofappropriate legislationin relation to promoting the health wellbeing and safety of adults. Toidentifyclinical practice issuesencounteredduring execution of their role and adviceappropriate manager. To respond to internal safeguarding incidents (Datix) and escalate asrequiredin order applying specialist safeguarding knowledge and skills. To be involved in all safeguardingrelated investigationstoapply specialist safeguarding knowledge and skills. The post holderis required toutilise the highest level of skill in relaying sensitive, highly confidential, complex, and contentious information To conduct internal management reviews/investigations and serious case reviews/DomesticAbuse Related Death Reviewsunder the direction of theGroupDirector of Safeguardingand Named Nursesensuring that recommendations are implemented at an operational level. To provide specialist safeguarding training within LCHS and externally by arrangement. To develop and producetimelyreports, including trend analysis, risk assessment, service development and evaluation of audit and reviews. To deputise for senior safeguarding team asrequired To undertake any other dutiesappropriate topost remit. Toidentifythe need for and utilise specialist legal health professional advice asappropriate. To provide support to staff during legal proceedings within area of expertise Toadvisethe application of NSF and Health Quality Standards for Child Protection and undertake regular audit of Child Protection practice, working closely with the Clinical Governance Department within the trust. Personal development:maintainand develop own clinical skills andexpertiseetc for PREP NMC registration.
