Summary
TRS Personnel is recruiting for a permanent Trades Counter Assistant for our client in Shrewsbury, a long‑established, family‑run business supplying paints, consumables, tools, and equipment across the automotive, agricultural, and industrial sectors.
This is a varied, multi-tasking position supporting the trade counter, warehouse, and delivery operations. You’ll be serving customers, mixing paints, preparing and making orders, and occasionally assisting with local deliveries, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Serving customers at the trade counter in a friendly, professional manner
• Mixing paints to customer requirements (full training provided)
• Coordinating stock orders with suppliers
• Advising customers on automotive paints and consumables
• Preparing orders for collection and delivery
• Supporting warehouse duties
• Assisting with local deliveries when required
• Keeping the trade counter and stock areas clean and organised
Skills & Experience
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience in a customer facing or trade counter role(not essential as full training provided)
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Interest in automotive parts, paints, or tools
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working within a small team
Salary & Hours
• £30,000+ DOE
• Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5pm
