Summary

​Equans is looking for an Authorising Engineer & Technical Manager to join our team in Central Scotland on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. The role holder will ensure the EQUANS/SHTM Safe Systems of Work for High and Low Voltage (HV/LV) systems are managed and adhered to by our field operational teams. They will have significant expertise in managing and operating complex high risk Electrical systems in a healthcare, manufacturing, industrial, commercial environments, and will use that experience to help drive up standards across the Division. In addition, the role will provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support across the business into bids, projects, new opportunities and day to day operational support, including advice and guidance on best practice standards, processes and operational asset performance improvements. What will you deliver? Carry out Technical training and Assessments and Appointments as governed by the Equans & SHTM HV/LV Safety Rules.Support the business Technically in times of change (acquisitions, mobilisations, de-mobilisations etc.)Provide technical leadership across a range of specialist disciplines.Work closely with the operational delivery teams whilst at the same time retaining sufficient independence to be able to fulfil the duties of an AE.Engage with clients and customers on complex technical issues.Manage 3rd party AE organisations as they interface with the relevant region or location.Lead policy development and the definition, adoption and sharing of best practice in engineering and allied technical disciplines.Compliance assurance will be a key feature of this role, with the need for multi-site Technical and Authorising Engineer audits, requiring the ability and skills to work on own initiative, drawing on experience and guidance from the Head of Technical. Educated to degree level in engineering or equivalent through experience.
