Summary

The Opportunity Are you ready to play a pivotal role in a major infrastructure remediation programme within one of the UK’s most technically complex and high?integrity environments? This opportunity has arisen due to programme expansion and the increased prioritisation of critical infrastructure upgrades. You’ll join a forward?thinking project team delivering high?value engineering works where your commercial expertise will directly influence programme certainty, safety, and long?term asset resilience.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Providing quantity surveying supports all procurements and cost activities for a major remediation project.
- Supporting commercial and project teams through review, challenge, and assurance of contractor quotations and compensation events.
- Preparing recommendations for payment notices, pay-less notices, release of retentions, liquidated damages, and similar contractual actions.
- Advising the project team on contractual entitlements, extensions of time, and commercial impacts.
- Drafting commercial responses including early warning replies, CE notifications, and quotation responses.
- Collaborating with the technical team on queries with commercial implications.
- Leading assessment of applications for payment, including site verification and producing forecast-to-completion outputs.
- Preparing and facilitating agreement of final accounts and associated commercial statements.
- Managing purchase order values and associated invoicing.
- Administering the commercial system (CEMAR) during weekly meetings and ensuring adherence to contract management plans.
- Attending contractor commercial meetings and providing updates on payment applications, cost assurance, and risks.
- Maintaining commercial issue logs and preparing audit queries when required.
- Ensuring contract compliance through ongoing assurance and governance.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

- Experience delivering quantity surveying activities on complex programmes or projects.
- Strong background in NEC4 contracting processes and procedures.
- Hands-on experience using CEMAR.
- Demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholders across project delivery.
- UK national with eligibility for Security Clearance (SC).
- Relevant qualifications and experience aligned to NEC4 cost and commercial functions.
- Degree in a cost, commercial, or closely related discipline (or equivalent).

It’s great if you also have the following

- Experience working within regulated, high-integrity, or specialist environments (e.g., defence, nuclear, marine infrastructure).
- Professional accreditation such as RICS or equivalent.
- NEC4 PMA certification.

The setting for the role This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) supporting a large-scale, high-priority infrastructure remediation programme. You’ll work as part of an integrated project team, collaborating closely with commercial, technical, engineering, and project management colleagues to ensure successful delivery of a critical infrastructure asset.
