Summary
Cardboard Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cardboard Engineer to join a creative, fast-paced manufacturing and display design team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in cardboard engineering, packaging, structural design, or product design who thrives on problem-solving and taking innovative concepts through to production.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with 3D designers, graphic designers, engineers, and project managers to create semi-permanent displays and packaging concepts for well-known global and high-street brands.
Key Responsibilities-
Generate cardboard engineering cutter guides for innovative displays and packaging

Conduct weight testing and experiment with new structures, prototypes, and materials

Develop solutions for a wide range of briefs, from simple shelf trays to complex free-standing displays and event sites

Work closely with internal teams to ensure designs meet client specifications, retail guidelines, and manufacturing capabilities

Contribute to value engineering and develop manufacturing efficiencies

Push the boundaries of design possibilities while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance
Essential Skills & Experience-
Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes

Proficiency with engineering or design software such as ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, Kasemake, Impact, or similar

Awareness of value engineering and cost-effective production

Excellent communication skills to liaise with designers, project managers, and sales teams

Ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Creative mindset with a willingness to challenge conventions and explore innovative solutions
