Crynodeb
Job Purpose The ADHD Assessor will deliver comprehensive, holistic ADHD assessments within a neurodivergent-affirming framework, placing the patient at the centre of the process. The post-holder will apply skilled clinical reasoning including consideration of differential diagnoses and co-occurring conditions to produce nuanced, evidence-based formulations and high-quality diagnostic reports. They will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the ongoing development of Innovate ADHD's clinical standards and governance. Key Responsibilities Clinical Assessment Conduct comprehensive, patient-centred ADHD assessments across the lifespan (ages 765) in line with NICE guidelines and Innovate ADHD clinical protocols Gather and integrate information from multiple sources, including clinical interviews, standardised rating scales, psychometric data, collateral history, and liaison with families, carers, or other professionals as appropriate Apply thorough clinical reasoning to consider differential diagnoses and co-occurring neurodevelopmental, mental health, and physical health conditions Form clear, evidence-based diagnostic formulations that reflect the whole person, not solely the presenting question of ADHD Produce high-quality, accessible written reports within agreed timeframes, meeting the standards required by Innovate ADHD, NHS commissioners, and the relevant professional regulatory body Multidisciplinary Working Work collaboratively within Innovate ADHD's multidisciplinary team, which includes psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and Clinical Associates in Psychology Participate in case discussions, peer consultation, and MDT meetings Communicate effectively with referrers, GPs, and other external professionals as required Support the onward care pathway for patients following assessment, including appropriate signposting and recommendations Clinical Governance and Standards Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in line with CQC standards, professional regulatory requirements, and Innovate ADHD's policies and procedures Participate actively in clinical audit, quality improvement, and reflective practice activities Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, acting as a responsible clinician in relation to the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults Maintain professional registration and engage in continuing professional development, keeping practice current and evidence-based Contribute to the development and review of clinical protocols, policies, and documentation as the service evolves Administrative Efficiency Utilise Innovate ADHD's clinical and administrative systems, which are designed to manage scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping efficiently, enabling clinicians to maximise the time available for direct patient care Work within agreed caseload expectations and report any capacity or risk concerns promptly to the Clinical Leader Service Development Contribute to the growth and development of Innovate ADHD as a service, including participation in training, supervision structures, and initiatives to improve the patient and clinician experience Act as an ambassador for neurodivergent-affirming practice, helping to embed this ethos across all aspects of service delivery
