JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am 83 year old lady living in the Tonypandy area, I live with my daughter and her partner. I am from Brazil and unfortunately I only speak Portuguese, which can be a barrier for me however I do have a good sense of humour. I sometimes use a translator on google when I want to say something. I grew up in Brazil in a large family as a little girl I was taught to make bamboo pots, all my family worked hard on a farm, when I grew up I had 2 daughters and became a single mum life was challenging trying to do everything on my own which made me very independent. Due to my deteriorating health and being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and a history of trauma I am now dependent on my daughter. My symptoms include mobility issues and memory loss which can leave me with anxiety and confusion. I like to watch Brazilian television which my daughter pays for, I like to watch DIY programmes and discovery documentaries. My daughter is my main carer so she is with me every day, hence my daughter would like some respite to do the things she enjoys.
