The University of Edinburgh is a world-class organisation. We are a large University covering a wide range of activities. In Professional Services, we support the University’s research and teaching, offering many career and role specialisms.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrician/Approved Electrician to join our multi-disciplined trade’s team. You’ll be part of a supportive environment that delivers exceptional customer service across an expanding, world‑class estate. You will have completed an appropriate Recognised SECCT electrical apprenticeship SQV3 or equivalent, hold a current SJIB Electrician grading card. For Electricians, we offer clear development pathways and the opportunity to gain Approved Electrician status. A working understanding of minor works, alterations, refurbishments or new installations and significant experience of carrying out similar maintenance tasks within a complex estate is also essential. The role is predominantly carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance using an electronic maintenance system via smartphone.
