Hazelbrook Care Home is a modern, purpose-built home offering specialist and complex care for 80 residents across four 20-bed, bungalow-style households. Designed for calm, therapeutic living, it supports people with advanced dementia, complex nursing needs, and mental health conditions.

We are now looking for an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and ensure our home is maintained to the highest possible standard.

This is more than overseeing cleaning schedules. This is about creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel truly at home. Your leadership will ensure every room, every space, and every detail reflects the care, respect, and pride we have in our home.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the quality, safety, and comfort that defines Hazelbrook Care Home.

Your role as Head Housekeeper

As Head Housekeeper, you will lead and support the housekeeping team, ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supervising, and supporting the housekeeping team to ensure high standards are consistently maintained
  • Planning, organising, and delegating daily cleaning and laundry tasks effectively
  • Ensuring residents’ bedrooms, communal areas, and facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming
  • Conducting regular quality checks and inspections to maintain excellent housekeeping standards
  • Managing stock, ordering cleaning supplies, and ensuring equipment is well maintained
  • Supporting the recruitment, training, and development of housekeeping team members
  • Responding promptly and professionally to requests or concerns from residents, families, and colleagues
  • Ensuring all housekeeping practices meet health, safety, and infection control standards
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the home
  • Maintaining records and supporting effective budget management within the housekeeping function

What you will bring

We are looking for someone who takes pride in creating clean, comfortable environments and leading teams to deliver excellence.

You will have:

  • Previous housekeeping experience, ideally within a care home, healthcare, hotel, or similar environment
  • Experience leading or supervising a team
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A good understanding of hygiene, infection control, and health and safety standards
  • The ability to motivate and support others to achieve high standards
  • A proactive and reliable approach, with strong problem-solving skills
  • A warm, respectful, and professional manner
