As University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW) has recently expanded the Gastroenterology service based at Weston General Hospital, we are pleased to advertise the exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Gastroenterology with General (Internal) Medicine. The main site for this post will initially be Weston General Hospital, but as we move to full clinical service integration across UHBW, there will be a requirement to work across site at Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI). This will be determined through the job planning process.
The successful candidate will develop special interests to extend the spectrum of the gastroenterology services offered at Weston, and support services currently being developed in the department. Weston General Hospital is JAG accredited and is proud to have retained this for over 10 years. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional service. There will be inpatient responsibility for the gastroenterology ward on a 1:4 rotational basis. The post includes a commitment to the emergency endoscopy rota (1:6) plus the G(I)M on-call rota out of hours (1:11).

The post is advertised as a 10 PA post, but candidates wishing to be considered for a position with additional or fewer sessions are welcome to apply. The appointment of this position will be part of the 1:11 current consultant on call rota.
