Summary

Broxtowe Borough Council have an exciting opportunity for the role of Housing Assistant to join our Tenancy Services Team. We are looking for a confident, people-focused individual with great interpersonal skills for this busy role to work within the Beeston office each day.

As the role involves regular contact with customers that hold tenancies with the Council and residents of the Borough you will need to be committed to providing an excellent customer-focused services.

The primary purpose of the role is to assist in the delivery of the housing management service, helping with the day to day running of the team in a variety of different aspects. Whether this be taking the phone calls for the team, assisting with correspondence received or being sent by the team or by having face to face contact with customers in the office, such as completing tenancy change documents with tenants.

The challenges within the role will be varied and there will also be opportunities to work closely with other teams within the Council to gain further knowledge and experience.

This role is an opportunity to join a housing team or take your first steps in what could be a new career. We are looking for someone who can show the behaviours and attributes consistent with our GREAT values and therefore experience of working in a housing team is not essential.

We’re looking for an individual who has proven experience of:
• Working with customers
• Working with vulnerable people
• Able to keep accurate records and use ICT systems proficiently

The ideal candidate would be:
• Able to manage their own work
• Able to give a positive view of the Council and team
• Have strong communication skills, both verbally and written
• Someone who will represent our values and behaviours

Full training will be given to candidates with transferrable skills and the ability and willingness to learn.

What you need to know:
• This is a permanent role based at the Council Offices, Beeston
• Working hours are 37 hours per week, with business hours Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm
• There will be a requirement to work outside of office hours on occasions
• Training to help you in the role is available
