Summary
Job Title: Bid Writer / Proposal Writer
Location: 1 day per week in Southampton office, with 3 to 4 days per week at home
Salary: £50k to £55k per annum
We are looking for a Bid Writer who has a Foundation APMP certification who feels ready to move into a Bid Coordinator / Manager role in the longer term.
This allows 4 days working from home with 1 day that's office based, and offers significant opportunity to grow your career from Bid Writer to Bid Manager
- Drafted and tailored compliant, client-focused proposals, tenders and responses to RFPs/RFIs, ensuring accuracy and on-time submission
- Developed bid and capture strategies, coordinating sales, technical, finance and legal stakeholders to align solution positioning and win themes
- Wrote persuasive executive summaries, solution narratives and value propositions that clearly communicated differentiation and benefits
- Managed bid process and governance: bid/no-bid decisions, project plans, version control, risk logs and use of e‑tendering platforms/SharePoint for secure submissions.
- Produced pricing schedules and commercial appendices in collaboration with finance, creating cost models and margin-optimised proposals.
- Conducted competitor analysis, compliance matrices, and risk assessments; prepared clarifications and compliance evidence to meet procurement criteria.
- Created supporting materials (case studies, CVs, accreditation's, capability statements and slide decks) to strengthen client credibility.
- Maintained bid library, templates and lessons‑learned reviews; tracked bid metrics (win rate, pipeline value, turnaround time) to drive continuous improvement.
