Job Purpose
To lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children's home, ensuring high-quality care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. The Registered Manager is responsible for staff leadership, budget management, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Care & Support-
Build positive relationships with children and young people.

Promote therapeutic practice, including PACE principles.

Ensure individual needs, education, health, and well-being are supported.

Oversee admissions, discharges, family contact, and care planning.

Maintain a safe, structured, and well-presented home environment.

Lead safeguarding practice and ensure all concerns are reported appropriately.

Oversee risk assessments and behaviour management plans.

Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

Maintain accurate records and notify authorities of serious incidents (Regulation 40).

Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management to staff.

Manage recruitment, training, appraisals, rotas, and staff welfare.

Promote professional development and high standards of practice.

Participate in on-call duties.

Manage and monitor the home's budget and expenditure.

Ensure effective record-keeping and implementation of the Statement of Purpose.

Liaise with external professionals and agencies.
Qualifications & Requirements

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).

Strong knowledge of children's home regulations and safeguarding procedures.

Proven leadership experience within residential childcare.

Ability to work flexibly in line with service needs.
