The Grimsby Institute is part of the TEC Partnership, which is a large, innovative, dynamic and financially sound organisation.

We are now offering a fantastic opportunity to join the Grimsby Institute in the role of Programme Leader. If you are a team player who is passionate about helping learners reach their full potential, then we want to hear from you!

About the role

We are looking for an inspiring and energetic Programme Leader for Media & Photography to help shape the next generation of creative talent. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a vibrant, hands‑on curriculum. You’ll design and deliver engaging projects that introduce learners to the world of photography, digital media, creative software, and visual storytelling—sparking curiosity and confidence in those at the very start of their creative journey.

As a Programme Leader, you will drive high‑quality teaching and learning, oversee assessment and quality processes, and create a positive, ambitious culture where learners feel supported, safe, and motivated to succeed. Working closely with specialist staff, support teams, and industry partners, you’ll champion enrichment, real‑world experiences, and progression opportunities into higher‑level study.

If you’re passionate about creativity, learner development, and shaping an inclusive and exciting curriculum, this role offers the perfect platform to make a meaningful impact.

About the person

A suitable candidate for the Programme Leader for Media & Photography will be an inspiring and adaptable educator with a recognised teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards one) and a BA (Hons) in Media, Photography, Creative Media, Digital Arts, or a related field. They will bring experience of teaching or supporting learners in Further Education—ideally at Level 1-Level 3 and will be confident working with learners who have SEND needs, EHCPs, or low prior attainment, using creative and inclusive approaches to help them succeed.

The ideal candidate will have practical skills in photography, media production, and basic editing software, along with strong organisational ability to manage curriculum planning, assessments, and day‑to‑day programme coordination. They will demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues, parents, and external partners. A proactive, solution‑focused mindset and a strong commitment to safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity, and inclusion are essential.

While not mandatory, assessor or IQA qualifications, experience in the creative industries, programme leadership experience, and involvement in showcases, exhibitions, or employer‑led creative projects are highly desirable.
