Summary

You will be responsible for: supporting the manager to deliver high quality care and support the development of the children and young people by ensuring outcomes are achieved.

In particular, you will need to:
• Safeguard young people from all forms of abuse
• Report any concerns about a young person or work colleague to the manager
• Support young people to achieve a healthy lifestyle by promoting positive choices
• Administer or support to self-administer, prescribed medication in line with policy
• Take responsibility for ordering and auditing all medication
• Assist in the practical running of the home and the preparation of nutritious meals for the young people
• Be proactive in supporting colleagues when dealing with difficult situations, ensuring
any challenging behaviour is dealt with by effective use of MAPA
• Lead, organise and supervise the staff team in their daily duties
• Support the manager in completing, and reviewing care plans, risk assessments,
daily recording and the quality of the service

To achieve these outcomes you must:
• Have experience of a similar role
• Be compassionate, caring and willing to undertake personal care tasks and all non care duties as required
• Have good communication skills both written and verbal
• Hold a suitable qualification, e.g. Diploma level 3
• Have excellent organisational and communication skills - both verbal and written
• Be able to work to your own initiative as well as working as part of a team
• Work to the direction of the Manager
• Have access to a car for business use
