We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader to deliver a world-class, consistent building maintenance service to our stakeholders.​

This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the technical services team, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled leader with strong electrical or mechanical qualifications and experience supervising multi-disciplinary engineering teams.​

You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance compliance, operational continuity, and a safe working environment across all site activities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a shift team of 4–5 engineers (electrical, mechanical, and fabric).

Review and evaluate team performance to ensure quality standards are consistently met.

Assign tasks for reactive works, work tickets and scheduled preventive maintenance.

Ensure all PMs and work orders are completed on time each month.

Maintain up-to-date O&M documents, drawings, manuals and operational procedures.

Manage storage, inventory and disposal of tools, spare parts and service equipment.

Coordinate contractors and vendors, ensuring safe access, escorting and site compliance.

Support operational changes such as critical switching and Lockout/Tagout processes.

Assist with evaluating subcontractor quotes and supporting facility project planning.

Provide required data for reports, equipment evaluations and contractor scopes of work.

Ensure compliance with company, client and regulatory policies across the engineering team.

Act as a problem solver on shift and support 24/7 emergency and corrective activities.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Background in facilities management, covering reactive tasks and PPMs.

Experience overseeing or leading a small engineering team.

Strong problem-solving skills and confident delegating tasks.

Fully electrically qualified (18th Edition, C&G/NVQ Electrical Installations) or mechanical qualifications (Gas/AC).

Experience with subcontractor and vendor management.

Ability to manage KPIs, capacity planning and reporting.

Proficient in using hand tools, test equipment and maintenance best practices (Journeyman level).
