From taking full ownership of end-to-end delivery for a diverse portfolio of localisation and translation projects to ensuring exceptional quality, client satisfaction, and operational excellence. As a Project Manager with thebigword, your days will be a thrilling blend of collaboration, innovation, and championing initiatives.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their objectives, workflows, and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the primary point of contact, managing all communication, updates, and escalations with professionalism and clarity.
Project Delivery & Quality Assurance
- Deliver all projects to the highest standards—on time, within scope, and on budget—by effectively coordinating internal teams, linguists, and external partners.
- Ensure all workflows adhere to established quality frameworks, best practice guidelines, and company processes.
- Maintain accurate and compliant project records, documentation, and reporting within internal systems.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Demonstrate strong independent thinking and judgment to proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce risk, and increase efficiency across the project lifecycle.
- Lead regular project reviews to evaluate performance, gather insights, and implement preventative or corrective measures to strengthen future delivery.
Commercial & Operational Performance
- Contribute to revenue growth by maximising client satisfaction, spotting opportunities for service expansion, and ensuring efficient project financial management.
- Drive profitability by optimising resourcing, reducing inefficiencies, and maintaining high operational discipline.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders—including Operations, Sales, Linguist Management, Technology, and Finance—to ensure seamless project execution.
- Work collaboratively with clients to anticipate needs, propose solutions, and deliver a consistently high-quality localisation experience.

- Proven experience managing localisation or translation projects end-to-end.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to manage expectations and build trust.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise, multitask, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Good commercial awareness, including budgeting, cost control, and identifying growth opportunities.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and quality-focused mindset.
- Confident using Microsoft 365 and translation/localisation tools.
- Collaborative approach, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Desirable to be familiar with localisation workflows, file formats, and linguistic quality processes.
- Experience with continuous improvement or process optimisation.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
- Independent thinker who uses good judgment and takes initiative.
