Summary
In accordance with the professional registration, the post-holder will work alongside other members of the MHST leadership team to deliver and develop the Birmingham MHST offer as part of the Government’s Green Paper for transforming children and young people’s mental health (2017). They will ensure the delivery of a clinically effective service which meets the needs of individuals, families and communities in line with local and national development plans, Trust policies and procedures.
The MHST forms part of the Early Help Clinical Group in Forward Thinking Birmingham. The MHST Clinical Team manager is responsible for the operational and clinical management of the mental health support team within the locality. They are a member of the multi-disciplinary team working with children, young people, families and education staff; assessing and treating the mental health and well-being of children and young people.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the teams fulfil their core offer of services whilst maintaining a clinical input within their role. The mental health support teams support children and young people with presenting problems of a low to moderate level of complexity. The post holder will co-ordinate children and young people’s care within the team and may refer on as necessary.
The post holder offers evidence-based interventions, where indicated, in line with the MHST model. They support local and national developments with respect of access targets, meaningful waiting initiatives and any other developments as and when required. The Clinical Team Manager will be responsible for service improvements and developing the MHST model.
The post-holder will work closely with STICK team colleagues to ensure a robust early help mental health offer across the City.
They will also be responsible for auditing and quality assurance of clinical records, outcomes and any other relevant data.
