Summary

The Opportunity
Are you ready for a role where your leadership will directly shape the future of Physiotherapy education? Do you want to take on a genuinely transformative position and one that offers the autonomy, scope, and influence to make a lasting mark?

We are seeking an exceptional academic leader to join us as Senior Lecturer & Programme Director for our MSci and MSc Physiotherapy programmes to steer the next chapter of our growing and ambitious School.

Internationally recognised for offering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate provision, the School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy within Keele University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, offers a range of pre-registration AHP programmes. The Guardian University Guide 2026 and The Times Good University Guide 2026 have both placed Keele as the No.1 university in the region to study Physiotherapy in their recently published league tables, with the Guardian also ranking Keele 3rd overall in the UK. As a TEF Gold institution, Keele University is renowned for its exciting approach to higher education and post-holders will join, and be supported by, an experienced group of over 100 enthusiastic academic staff.

Why this role matters
The successful candidate will lead across our pre-registration physiotherapy portfolio, offering a single point of strategic direction and operational oversight. This is a role for someone who wants to build, innovate, and lead, with the freedom to reimagine how Physiotherapy education is delivered for the next generation of learners. If you thrive on challenge, if you enjoy transforming ideas into reality, and if you want a role where your leadership impact will be visible, this is a rare and exciting opportunity.

What we are looking for
We welcome applications from individuals who combine professional credibility, strong academic standing, and genuine leadership ambition. You will bring experience of health‑related programme delivery and an understanding of the demands of regulatory compliance. Most importantly, you will have:

A clear vision for what excellent Physiotherapy education looks like now and what it will need to become.

The confidence to lead change, challenge assumptions, and move teams forward with purpose and clarity.

A collaborative, people‑centred leadership style that strengthens relationships and builds trust.

You will have qualifications in Physiotherapy and you will be a member of the HCPC.

You will be part of a School that is ambitious, supportive, and ready for new developments. Senior leadership is committed to investing in high‑quality programme direction, and you will have genuine influence in your role. If you're ready for the challenge, eager to make your mark, and excited about leading programmes into a bold new phase, we would love to hear from you.
