Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled Band 6 Clinical Respiratory Physiologist to join a progressive, patient-centred Respiratory Physiology Service within a large Trust spanning York, and working in partnership with Scarborough. The role offers a high level of professional autonomy, delivering accurate, timely, and clinically relevant investigations that directly support diagnosis and treatment.
The post involves working across York Hospital and our Community Diagnostic Centres at Askham Bar and Selby War Memorial Hospital, the latter two with free parking. As part of an evolving specialist team of physiologists and scientists, you will perform and report full lung function testing, contribute to triage of referrals, and work closely with Respiratory Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to support a seamless patient journey, including an innovative breathlessness pathway.
There are excellent opportunities for involvement in a wide range of respiratory investigations, including Hypoxic Challenge testing, inpatient sleep studies, bronchial provocation testing, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), as well as participation in audit and service development. We offer a supportive, forward-thinking department based in the vibrant and historic city of York.
Please note, the interviews for this position will be held in person only with no remote option available.
· Provides a complex, specialist Clinical Cardio-respiratory service to patients of all ages from a range of specialities suffering from a wide variety of medical disorders
· Undertake professional interest in a specialist area of cardio-respiratory service delivery.
· Undertakes interpretation of results and provides a provisional report.
· Works collaboratively on a day-to-day basis with others to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the service.
· Supervision of junior staff and participates in training and education of junior and /or other staff groups.
· Participate in quality assurance, audit and/or research and development programmes.
